on eBay. what was i thinking? and it's only one sock, not two. *idiot* i put an automatic bid thingy on it a while ago and had forgotten. was sure I'd get outbid. it's outrageous noone wanted to pay more than $40 for it. stupid ebay. EDIT: got a message from the seller: Yes, well it was my mother who saved a few of my collectibles from my childhood. This one survived for a purpose, to hold my abba cards. So yea must have lost it!

Rufus tells his conversion story to a rapt crowd of sinners:
"I was in a terrible state. My mouth had been ripped off and my nose broken in half and my eyebrows ripped off. My head was also half decapitated by the evil twins until the eldest sister sewed it back on, before she left, hoping it would give me a chance of surviving.
"She found me abandoned recently when she visited WA and she snuck me away in her suitcase and took me to the Doll Hospital for an extreme makeover. That's how I ended up here and now I'm going to WYD!"
Comments from the crowd: "What happened to your previous owner?"
R says: "She went traipsing around the jungles of Borneo getting entangled with poisonous snakes - didn't ask me if I wanted to go along... Probably took that Paddo bear along."
The crowd says: "Outrageous!"

Mr R, formerly of Western Australia, is suspected of having fled to Sydney and had plastic surgery at the Bexley Doll Hospital.
"Life was crap in WA," Mr R said. "I played second fiddle to a newcomer Paddington Bear with a fancy duffle coat.
"And that horrible black cat kept threatening to scratch my eyes out."
Traumatised, and determined never to return, Mr R had an extreme makeover to avoid detection so he wouldn't be deported.
Getting into the local scene, it is feared he has joined a cult (see pic).

The woman who gave me the rare pic of ABBA taken by the George Patterson ad team in Sweden while filming the National ads - well, I told her I have the National ad outtake footage (so rare she didn't even know it existed). There's footage of her Dad.
She said: "We have no footage of Dad - we didn't take any videos. Can I please see it?"
Amazing, hey! He died in 1981 when she was in her 20s.
See, there is some usefulness in my crazy obsessions!!!

just walked past and there are new neon signs out front "Victoria Bitter Newtown Hotel" and spotlights shining around it. Lights were on inside and someone working in the cellar.
Maybe reopen for mardi gras?
i haven't heard anything yet - maybe it will be in the gay press tomorrow?
The Z Bar is still gutted and not refurbished. But the doorway that went thru to the Newtown Hotel looks like it has been sealed off.

if u go during the day, take a camera! fantastic!! the best viewpoint - on the red level (Coles) walk out to the car park and it's a perfect view. smokemarks all the way to the top. Four substation thingys looking very dramatic. Thick electric cords *everywhere*. Like they've had to put in a zillion electric cords, all over the footpath (on one side) and coming out of a vent in a wall.
There are trucks and generators or somethings.
Inside, the escalators are not working (only one set is) - u have to walk up, and the air-con is not working in most stores and in the general shopping area/food court. Inside Coles and Target were OK cos they have own air con. David Lawrence was f**ked and all the little stores. It's HOT!!
My fave exit (on red level, but going towards Glebe) was blocked cos it exits into that street where the substation caught fire. am amazed at the damage. All contained in that section, though. It looks like it will take them a while to rewire everything.

my brother-in-law got this for xmas - a $20 apple corer and peeler. he'd asked for it.
there were endless demos (though he made us eat every apple he did) - it cuts the apple so u can open it out like an accordion. (didn't take a pic of that, sorry.)

here's one of the great views on my walk to werk:
the new office is near where the storm clouds r on the LHS. behind that wharf. they laid down a trans-Darling-Harbour line so we could get the internets over there.
